Arvind Lohi assumes charge as Zonal Head, Kolkata Zone of Bank of Baroda

Arvind Lohi has taken over as the Zonal Head, Kolkata Zone of Bank of Baroda. Post amalgamation of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank, the zone is now having 467 branches spreading across 10 states and Union territories. Prior to joining the present assignment, Lohi was heading Panaji Region as Regional Head. Lohi joined Bank of Baroda in 1984 and has 35 years’ experience in mainstream banking operations in various capacities.

United Bank of India organised special Half Yearly Customer Meet

United Bank of India organised a special Half Yearly Customer Meet at all branches across India recently with the participation of its top executives of head office and regional offices. The meet was well represented by all segments of customers like small depositors, borrowers including MSME, students, senior citizens, women, corporates and institutional customers. Interactive discussions were held on digital banking, MSME and retail loans and cleanliness drive towards improving the ambience.

NABARD celebrated its 38th Foundation Day

NABARD, West Bengal RO celebrated its 38th Foundation Day in their new office building at Sector-V, Salt Lake, Kolkata and also organised a programme on enhancement of Rural Income in the era of Climate Change on July 12, 2019. After the felicitation of the Chief Guests, Subrata Mandal, CGM, NABARD, West Bengal, RO addressed the gathering. The Chief Guest, Shri Hari Krishna Dwivedi, ACS (Finance) congratulated NABARD on its 38th Foundation Day. Hauzel Thangzamuan, Chief General Manager Reserve Bank of India, appreciated the way NABARD has been constantly evolving through the years. On the occasion A Coffee Table Book on Farm Sector Activities (grant based activity implemented in the state of WB) and NABARD in West Bengal was released by the H. K. Dwivedi.

Senco Gold & Diamonds launches ‘PRIDE Collection’

As a support for the LGBTQ community, Senco Gold & Diamonds launched the ‘PRIDE Collection’ on June 27, 2019. A unique fashion show titled ‘Sphulingo – Freedom of Expression’ was held at the Mega Shop in Kolkata, led by Professors and LGBT activist Dr. Manabi Bandyopadhyay. Jindal Stainless clamps down on counterfeit market

In order to curb the counterfeit products of Jindal Stainless in the market, the company is launching a nationwide co-branding initiative with Pipes and Tubes (P&T) manufacturers. Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless said, “We have launched this mutually beneficial co-branding scheme in response to the needs of our customers. It is estimated that over 25% of pipes and tubes sold annually in India bear the counterfeit branding of Jindal stainless and are valued at over `1300 crore.”

JSW Steel offering packaging material with JSW Platina

JSW Steel began the roll-out of JSW Platina, premium tinplate targeted at packaging industry. At the launch of JSW Platina, Jayant Acharya, Director, Commercial, Marketing and Strategy for JSW Steel Ltd. said, “Our investment of close to ` 1000 crore in establishing our current tinplate making unit at Tarapur.”

Amit Agarwal, CEO, JSW Steel Coated Products said, “JSW Platina will enable our customers achieve higher productivity which in turn can have a direct productivity.”
